This presentation will provide an overview of the NSF-funded research on integrated K-8 computer science (CS) instruction for academically diverse learners, including those with disabilities.

The 2017 total solar eclipse was likely the most viewed in human history, and was a spectacular moment of public engagement and interest in astronomy and science in general. Illinois Astronomers took full advantage of this opportunity, and members of the AstroIllini outreach group will demonstrate hands-on activities. Moreover, eclipses also provide unique laboratories.

May Berenbaum, Professor and Department Head of the University of Illinois Department of Entomology, will discuss how science fiction films can be used in the classroom to teach science through bad examples.
