Solar Urbana-Champaign 2.0 is a community-wide residential and commercial discount program for solar. Offered by the City of Urbana and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, home and business owners throughout Champaign County may participate in this program to help pool their buying power to secure significant discounts that make installing solar more affordable than ever.
This talk will describe the vision and recent activities of the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Environment (iSEE) for achieving excellence in interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach in sustainability, energy and environment. It will discuss ways for the campus community to be involved in activities related to sustainability and present a preview of ongoing efforts and upcoming events.
Morgan Johnston, the Associate Director of Sustainability at Facilities and Services, will present the draft recommendations for revisions to the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP). The Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment is seeking public comments and input to the draft recommendations, and the 2015 iCAP is scheduled for Chancellor approval in spring 2015.
Eve's talk will provide a general overview of the Naturally Illinois Expo including: history of the Expo, the types of exhibits, composition of the audience (schools, general public), our goals, and improvements that have been made over the years.
When I tell people I study teacher stress, they usually respond with a hearty laugh and sarcastic comments to the effect of “Hah! Teachers don’t have stress!” Teacher stress can impact everything from job satisfaction to behavior management. In this lunch presentation I will discuss the science of stress, impact of stress on the educational environment, and initiate dialogue on how the issue of stress can be addressed in teachers.
