MSTE Friday Lunch will have a few presenters this week, tell us about the upcoming events at the Krannert Art Museum.

World problems and the need for human expertise to solve those problems demand more creativity. Opportunities abound for the individual who can integrate creative thinking skills with critical thinking skills. The creative imperative and the creative opportunity urge us to improve creativity education for students. We can help students become more creative, and as a result we can enhance their personal satisfaction and their abilities to solve the pressing problems of our times.
Join us for our MSTE Friday Lunch with presenter, Bruce Litchfield as he presents “Enhancing Creativity: Assisting students whether you have 15 minutes or 15 weeks”.
Abstract: Preparation to teach school mathematics should include knowing how to respond to classroom mathematical interactions. Research literature of mathematics teaching asserts that teacher’s ability to respond to classroom interactions is dependent on her knowledge of subject matter and pedagogical strategies as well as instant recognition of what the student is saying. As a consequence, teacher education programs should cultivate teacher’s ability to respond to classroom mathematical interactions by practicing the integration of mathematical and pedagogical reasoning discourses.
