Barbara Hug will discuss the PAGES project’s approach to developing Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned K-12 curriculum and professional development. She will discuss how to support in-service science teachers with the new standards through the use of NGSS storylines. She will share examples of science curricula and discuss the affordances and challenges of the approach.


What is accessibility all about and how does it apply to the University of Illinois and you? In this presentation, Tim Offenstein will give an overview of IT Accessibility. He will explain what “assistive technology” is, who uses it and how it benefits them, and the current state of the legal landscape – are we going to get sued? Joe Muskin and Adam Poetzel will show us how to create a coordinate path that a laser will follow to generate a design. This simple apparatus uses mirrors and a laser that projects the image on fluorescent paper.
